NATO Chief Warns

Thursday, February 12, 2026 — Brussels NATO’s Secretary-General warned Thursday that Russia continues efforts to destabilize Ukraine, as Western allies reaffirmed commitments to Kyiv during a security briefing in Brussels.

The United Kingdom reiterated its military and humanitarian support, emphasizing coordination with European partners. British defense officials underscored the importance of unity in maintaining deterrence.

Diplomatic discussions also addressed energy security and cyber defense — areas where UK agencies play a prominent role.

Foreign policy analysts say the ongoing conflict remains central to European security calculations, with implications for defense spending and alliance cohesion.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer said Britain would “stand firm with allies in defense of sovereignty and international law.”
